Yoga is a way of life – it’s a method for finding true happiness, vitality and true health. Here at The Stress Clinic we are happy to offer Yoga classes for all ages and all abilities. We believe in offering yoga for everyone’s individual needs therefore we want to provide different classes for everyone’s individual needs.

Below is a description of the different styles of yoga we teach at the clinic and what to expect when you come to a class.


Ashtanga Yoga
The Ashtanga Yoga Vinyasa system is sequences of postures that vary in difficulty and benefit. It is a fast flowing class synchronizing the breath moving in and out of the postures. The flow between each posture is an integral part of the practice. This process of learning allows its practitioners to develop the concentration, strength, flexibility and stamina needed to progress in a safe and balanced manner. Each Posture (asana), or group of asana, has a specific effect that is counter balanced by the previous asana, or group of asana. Aimed at those who like a fast, vigorous moving class.

Hatha Yoga for Alignment
This is a foundation beginner’s slower moving class, which is based on the teachings of Iyengar Yoga. It will focus on alignment and gaining greater awareness through focusing on the anatomy of the body while you practice. It will be especially useful for those with injuries and imbalances in the body by using yoga props to ease pain and help with healing. These classes will help you develop core strength in the body, develop the legs & open the hips with standing poses, basic sun salutations and breathing. Aimed at those brand new to yoga, coming back from an injury, those coming back after having a baby and trying yoga for the first time also.
